Back at the ranch things were quiet. Sas is still stranded on the couch by a torn calf-muscle so I kept her company. When my second wind hit I was inspired to rearrange all of the furniture in the living room. Of course, Sas couldn't help so I continued to entertain her by moving her around with the rest of the furmiture. (Don't worry, she already told on me to Aryeh.)
It is so hot in the apartment I think I need a cold shower - the only problem is that the water doesn't get COLD!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Explain this to me - when we want hot we only get cold and when we want cold all there is - is warm!!!
The world is out to get me.
And what is the trend with North America?

Went to work and bubble wrapped basketball cards then I babysat Ayelet and played with Yael.
Drank an iced coffee to soothe my headache.
Walked in the park for a couple of hours.
It was a day.

For my birthday Little Brother got me a cute little keychain with a cute little duck on it. I named him Duckie. Just wanted everyone to know that I now own a keychain with a duck named Duckie attached to it. And yes, he is very cute.
Shabbos was basically boring. It was Freddie's "Real" birthday - so we had some cake, some jello and some reserve wine.
Went to Saba and Savta's and enjoyed our time there. After Shabbos we watched the news and pretended to help unpack boxes. Actually, we did unpack boxes in an atempt to find things to send to children who have been chased from of their homes in the north by the 'war.'
All in all - it was and we are.
Thank you and have a nice week.

First we went to Office Depot to choose out a new יומן for the coming year then to the nursery to buy some rocks and then we went grocery shopping.
Speaking of nurseries, here are some photos of the Dibble's 'gradiminication' ceremony from גן חרצית just a few short weeks ago. I love the authentic outfits and just look at the smile on his face. Who doesn't love a Dibble now, seriously?!
Dinner was our big meal for the day. We ordered 3 pies and that gave each of us 3 slices each. Don't worry - I ate all 3 of my allowed slices. They were quite deeelicious. We had a squabble though trying to decide which pizza-place to order from. There are two in our neighborhood and we are split on taste-preferences. So we compromised and ordered from the Ramah. HAHAHA!! Brilliant indeed.
Mommy made angel-food cake for dessert - but not many of us made it to that part of the meal.
Tonight's agenda... Not a clue.
But, it's almost Shabbos.
Have a happy hop water day!

Walked down to Har Nof and stopped off at the cookie factory on the way.
Spent 4 hours and 40 minutes at 'work' - though, I actually did some stuff today.
Walked back to Kiryat Moshe and packed my bag.
Headed Home and drank an iced-coffee on the way for a quick relaxation fix.
My phone has been ringing off the hook.
This is CrAzY!!!

I aced my driving-test. First try, grumpy tester and all. I can't believe I managed to complete the whole procedure in exactly one week. Thank you Daddy for the nudging. Thank you Freddie for taking me to the mall. Thank you G-d for helping me through it all.
A beautiful evening, a clear sky, ancient roads more travelled of late and visions of the past.
Frozen yogurt with caramel and sprinkles and the comforting familiarity of a walk in the moonlight with a friend.
French fries and a can of cold cream soda.
It was a good day all in all.

Where were my glasses?
I have a vague recollection of a handsome prince and ladies in exquisite gowns.
Spent an afternoon in Har Nof. Nothing happened. The phone barely rang. It was such a waste of time. But it did save one day of vacation for me to use at my leisure.
We walked around in a circle. I love when people think that they know better than me. Not that I know everything, but sometimes I do actually know what I'm talking about. Of course, me being the patient and willing-to-listen person that I am - I have followed people in circles purely to see the looks of shock and amazement that steal over their faces when they realize what they have actually achieved through their pointless and wasted efforts. Namely, nothing more than trugding in circles.
Speaking of circles - swimming was cancelled tonight. I wanted to go swimming and I couldn't.
*sigh* Just another disappointment in a line of disappointments...
Three cheers for deli roll, french fries and a cold can of Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda.
Hip hip hooray!
Hip hip hooray!!
Hip hip hooray?

Visited Saba and Savta. Went to the Ramah. Went to the library.
Ate 2 ice pops.
Now Freddie and I are pulling an 'all-nighter' - we're having a LOTR marathon.
It should be finished by 6am or so.
Then I just have to catch an 11 o' clock bus to Jeru...

Friday night was long. The meal was drawn out - but we had a good time. After the meal Freddie and I wound up in Aviv at the Woof's house. We shmoozed and I ate banana ice-cream then we walked Home the looong way (bypassing as many of the sketchy people as possible.)
Shabbos morning I got to shul late. (First time in months.) After davening I shmoozed with Vivi and Ora then headed Home for lunch. Of course, Daddy had gone to the Chabad minyan so he didn't get Home until 1 'on the dot'. Laaaate Looooong lunch - but it was nice and yummy. Then I napped (yes Little Brother, I made the hammock icky.) Then Ora came and we shteiged a bit. Then I hit the potato kugel and we played an impossible game of Rummikub (because there was a lack of '7's.)
Plans for Motzash? Well, I think Michalie is gona sleep over. Mebbe we'll make popcorn and watch a movie. Mebbe we'll just chill and have a good time. Either way - we're gonna have FUN!!!
And, in the morning I have a date with Daddy. First I'm going to get shot and then to the bank and then...
Well, we'll see. :)
Friday, July 21, 2006
We also had a 'popcorn adventure'...
Like the new hair-style? I dunno - I mean, it's ok with the laundry pins but bag closers?
And last but not least - A self-captured-portrait...
Wishing you ALL a splendiferously amazing Shabbos! I'm hoping for a good one. Tanya and her hubby are coming (finally) so it should be great! Woohoo! I'm so excited!!

At the office, all was madness. After all - shiputzim are beginning...
On a really really fun 'up' note - the munchkin who I suppose I could refer to as my nephew came to visit today! He's soooooo cute! He and Frizzie got to be friends. They played peek-a-boo and Frizzie was quite content to be hugged and kissed and slobbered on. (Yeah Sis, I promise.)
Back at home we had a bunch of fun and then I missed a call.
And thus the weekend begins...

Today's adventure was kinda pathetic. I mean, it was semi-successful but 'semi' is not enough.
Woke up and went to get a general health practitioner to stamp my Tofes Yarok. Tracked down an eye doc and had him do the same. Fought with the annoying lady in the Misrad Harishui. Hopped on a bus back to Jeru and made it to the office right on time.
Packed, Shlepped, Packed, Taped, Packed, Answered phones, Packed, Shlepped.
Back at the Ranch, Sas and I got ready to meet Shosh at the pool.
Swimming was wonderful. Sadly, the pool is always VERY crowded - but it's ok, as I've said before - just being in the pool is enough. Though, I did over-tense my right gastrocnimius (which was quite annoying. Especially because I was mid-race and heading into deep water...) Anywho, I worked out the knot and by the time swimming was over I was almost as good as new.
In the locker-room my phone had 9 missed calls and 3 text messages. (I'm thinking I should go swimming more often.)
Lots of fun and exciting information. *Sigh*
Guess we'll see.
Tomorrow is going to be even crazier than today.
First stop - Talpiot - Misrad Harishui.
Wish me lots and lots of luck.
I'm just gonna cry.
Tuesday, July 18, 2006
Spent the morning with Sammy trying to get my 'tofes yarok' at the mall and then trying to organize an insane mission to finish the liscence process in about three days. I don't think it's going to work - but 'what the heck?' Right?
I hate Packing things, I hate shlepping things, AND I had to go to the post-office. *Sigh*
Shosh got me a yummy treat though. My favoritest cookie in the whole wide world and a smile to go with it. Thanks My Dunce.
Caught the 21:15 bus Home, so that in the morning I can go to the doctor to get my form stamped and move on to the next stage of the impossible.
Wish me luck.
Monday, July 17, 2006
At the office, first I went down to the post-office. After yesterday's show, I was worried about the chilly reception that was in store for me, but thankfully they realized that it wasn't my fault. Though I did still have over 60 stamps to 'stick' onto envelopes.
Then I went on an errand to the printing store. Then there were problems. Then I went back to the office. Then I went back to the prining store. The second time went smoothly. I wish it had taken longer. Back in the office 'packing' was in 'full swing' (?) Basically, I have a funny feeling that I am going to be the one to pack everything (except for what N is supposed to be packing), the one to finish filing the papers, the one to finish filing the newspapers, the one to drag out the garbage and basically - the one doing all of the dirty work and at the end of the day - I won't even get recognition for it. (And YES - I WOULD like some recognition for this. It's NOT an easy job. AND I'm still expected to do my 'regular job' at the SAME time. So, you know what? I think I have every right to be annoyed.)
After work as I sauntered back to the ranch to get ready to go swimming I bumped into the Miskins. Asked Avigdor about the same thing I asked Rabbi S. about - but basically, consensus shows that more information is required before any help can be forthcoming.
About swimming, so Sas found out that there is separate womens swim at the Crown Plaza Hotel on Monday and Wednesday nights. A seven minute walk and two hours in the water, who could ask for more? Granted, it was crowded, but just being in a pool was a great feeling. And, we even did a few laps... ;) Right?
I'm so hungry now. I wish mine Freddie was here to make me a salad. But, even if she was, we don't have any bulgarian anyway - so it wouldn't be SO yummy.
Yeah, so I stopped at the shuk today and loaded up on sorely needed veggies. 32 shekel and a backpack full of veggies later - I really felt like an ass. Why? Well, I can't write it here. But trust me, I did and still do.
Life is life is life is life - it's the ride and not just the destination that we have to focus on.
I wish it was a little bit easier though.
Oh, how I wish it were easier...

Alright alright - no comment.
Spent the morning in town with Mumsy and Freddie/Rosie Dearest. Brunch at yesteryear and then to work. Boy am I screwed when it comes to vacay days. Oh, you only get 10?! (Shoot.)
Sooooo sleepy. Getting into bed at 4 am in NOT recommended - especially when waking up is considered to be an integral part of your next morning's schedule. (*sigh*)
Post offices suck. Big time. Though, honestly - I don't think that this one is their fault. I mean, usually it is - but there's nothing they coulda done about this one.
AND to top it all off - I messed up the chart. Damn technical specifications. Ugh. Newspapers are ridiculous. Whoops. Badmouthing my place of employment? Ummm, no - not really. For some odd reason I actually enjoy slaving, I mean working there. I just stated that newspapers are about as pain in the bum as post-offices.
Of course, post-offices could probably be likened to...
Never mind. I'm going to stop there.
Back to laughing now.

It's been a while since I spent time in Bayit V'gan, a while since I spent time with Brochie and a looooong while since I spent a shabbos with friends.
There were about 10 of us and 9 were Afikei-Alumni. In addition to being alumni, we had all been in shana bet and some even stuck around as madrichot.
It was amazing to all be able to reflect upon our days in sem - but at the same time it was a very different perspective, because none of us are in it now - it was, and is not anymore but changed us all in numerous ways.
Topics of conversation ranged from here to there to everywhere. It was insightful, intellectual and refreshing.
Pori, Shlomo and Shaya are adorable and shmushy as always and it was really nice to see them. We got along just fabulously. They are growing up (as kids have been known to do) and it is so nice to be able to watch the progresssion and keep in touch.
All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Sadly, I was unable to stick around for 'night-activity' as I rushed off to meet up with somebody. Unfortunately, the person with whom I was supposed to meet up cancelled at the last moment. I understand that things 'come up' - I just wish I had known earlier.
So now I've been ditched and thus the week begins.
It's ok, I have high hopes.
Anyway, it's the last week of 'life' before 'vacation' so I am pretty psyched.
Yay for summer break! I actually get almost 3 weeks off.
Now I just have to plan my 'get-away.'
Friday, July 14, 2006
Made chocolate chip cookie dough and a continental breakfast - with chocolate milk (of course.)
Now I'm off to 'town' for some erev-shabbos shopping, nosh and some coffee.
I'll be in Bayit V'gan for shabbos. Back on the old stomping grounds.
My legs are gonna kills. Fashtunkenah stairs.
Have a great one everybody!
Thursday, July 13, 2006
It was nice to spend time with my Freddie this morning.
Work was. The Nine Days suck. I hate fast-days (though I wish I could do it everyday.)
My head hurts.
Now I'm off to the kotel to pray (for what I don't know) and then to frummie-ville for breaking the fast at an old teacher's house.
Oh yeah, and I'm totally ditching Shani's birthday party AND I'm not Home for Shabbos. I'd say that I hope she doesn't hate me forever - but I have a funny feeling that she won't notice anyway. I mean, after all, do I ever do anything fun?
Wednesday, July 12, 2006
By the time 7:30 rolled around I had organized an evening of fun. It's been a really long time but I decided that it was the perfect opportunity for some 'Father Daughter - Bonding Time' - (and by daughter, I mean daughters...) Anywho, it was discussed and after negotiation and brainstorming it was decided to make it a 'Father and 3 Oldest Kids - Bonding Night.'
Anywho, at a little after 8 Daddy, Eli and Freddie showed up at the ranch. We headed out to 'town' to pick up some frozen-yogurt and pizza for dinner. In the process we managed to say hi to Etana, apply for yet another a credit card, go to the bank and fling sprinkles all over the midr'chov - all the while managing to avoid being trampled by the summer tourists. We then made our way back to the car and down to Talpiot, to the Rav Chen theater for the 21:55 showing of 'Cars' - you know, that new animated film about the famous race car who winds up in Hicktown Hell?! Well, it was GREAT and I highly recommend it!
Now I'm back at the ranch once again. Freddie/Rosie is sleeping over and we're having a party in preparation for the fast (which is starting in a few short hours...)
Speaking of which - I need a drink.
"Lots and lots of water..."
"Fill my trailer with water..."
Easy Fast Everybody...
Tuesday, July 11, 2006
Upon waking this morning I promptly 'ditched' Shosh and headed out to meet up with my Nootch for brunch and a shopping spree. Brunch was good as we contributed to the RSPCA and shopping - though fun - was highly unsuccessful.
At work I went to the post office - twice - cause once was with the mail and once was with the mailing. I reorganized the signs and little 'inspirational'(?) post-it notes and I got to shred lots and lots of papers but first I got to demolish spiral bound little books. With all of the garbage I amused myself for a goodly span of time as I constructed 'Friedrick' - who now resides behind the computer screen and eats whatever dust-bunnies he can catch...
On the way back to the ranch I stopped off to pick up the pretzel rings that I had been craving since Sunday.
Life drags me along and keeps me an unwilling hostage.
Free me from this bondage!

This diet thing is NOT working. I think I just need to go back to eating properly and exercising more. *Sigh* and hopefully all this extra challah-dough will just disappear. Though I am now officially on the 'anything you can eat on a rice cake diet' I have high hopes of success, mostly because ice cream and rice cakes don't go so well...
Of course, I type this as Shosh and I sit at the table and ingest spoonfuls of chocolate milk powder. (Which you need to be very careful with when eating, because if you inhale too strongly or exhale at the critical moment you will wind up choking on the stuff.)
I got a record number of phone calls today. A whole 2. Though, I don't know if the 'wrong number' should really count.
I just learned how to cheat in Freecell.
I'm off to practice...
Sunday, July 09, 2006
Woke up at 8 after getting into bed at close to 4. Though, I did get to see the Phantom of the Opera (finally.)
Bussed back into the city with Sas and after dropping my stuff off at the ranch and eating rice-cakes I went to work.
Nothing special to report about the rest of the day.
I think I'll leave 'vulgar'-making to Mom and Freddie. They do it so much better than me.
Mebbe I'll go to sleep early tonight. Nothing else to do and I can think of nothing that I would like more than to curl up in bed with Amber (books 6-10 this time...)
Watch out Zelazny - Here I come!
Saturday, July 08, 2006
Friday night was quiet after shul and a walk Home, we had the meal - which was relaxed and of course Dibble provided 'live' entertainment (at least, he did until he announced that he was going to sleep.) In honor of our special guest Daddy dragged out a bottle of Merlot from the cellar and it had mellowed and aged quite nicely. So, we polished off the bottle. For dessert there was that wicked 'warm chocolate cake' and Mommy even experimented and made a 'warm white chocolate cake' specially for me. We washed that course down with a few shots of home-made cherry liquor. :) At this point we were QUITE happy. :) Then Sara came to visit. We went out to sit in the circle and eventually we walked her part of the way home.
Shabbos day. Well, after shul with 'Ron' and all the other strange happenings it was nice to get Home. The meal was quick and I take all of the credit for it. After shmoozing and eating a lot (cause we are starting our diet tomorrow...) we slept for a few hours. I played scrabble with Mommy and Rosie - whoops! I mean, Freddie. No wait! I mean Sammy. Ugh, whatever she wants to be called. Right Becky?! AAHHHHHHHH!!!!! Then we threw on clothes and headed out to find Ora and to Saba and Savta's house. We had fun there - as we always do. Then after Shabbos Saba drove us back Home.
Plans for tonight remain fuzzy. I would eat lots and lots of ice cream - after all, this diet is gonna be quite annoying - but - I dunno. Somehow, it doesn't seem like such a good idea.
It's going to be a laaaaaate night. That is about all I know for certain.
Conclusion - fat and ugly and mostly unwanted.
Hehe, do you really think she'd have me put to sleep?
And I DO blame it all on Mrs. Duckman sneezing -
Friday, July 07, 2006
Dewey and Drumna get along just splendidly! Aren't they precious?
Shabbos is going to be GREAT! Sassy is coming and we're going to walk to Saba and Savta's tomorrow and Ora is coming too. I am so excited!!! This is going to be SOOOO much fun!!
New family moved in 4 doors down. They have a 17 yr old girl and a 21 yr old girl. The catch?? The 21 yr old is married with a baby and lives in Yad Binyamin. *Sigh* and we were THAT close! Oh well... Doesn't matter - we'll just have to welcome the 17 yr old I suppose. Chaval they're not Home for Shabbos.
And on Sunday me n Sas start our diet. HAAAAAAA!!! (Ice pop diet that is!!!) ;)
HAVE A SPLENDIFEROUS SHABBOS!!!
Thursday, July 06, 2006
At the office there was (most of?) a cake waiting for me. (It seems I missed the fire-works when the cake was cut and I wasn't even there yet...) But, I did get a chocolate-chip muffin on the side - so truth of the matter was, though I appreciated the cake - all I really needed was the muffin. Thank you to whoever went out and bought it - I really did appreciate it.
Saw my Nuch for a couple of minutes between leaving the office and catching a bus to TM.
At Home, Ora called to invite me to join her family at Club Tzora, for a Shlomo Katz concert. I've never actually been to Club Tzora before, and I must say - though rumor had me slightly sketched, the place is quite cozy.
Truth of the matter is, Ora gave me 3 presents. 1. An excuse to spend time OUT of the house. 2. A great concert (and) 3. Dewey.
What is a Dewey? Well, first of all - the correct question should be: Who is Dewey?
Mebbe I'll post a picture tomorrow. Though, I doubt a camera will do his soft fuzziness justice.
Wednesday, July 05, 2006
Lots of fun at work today. Talk about 'turning ground' - well, I certainly am getting good at it. But, I did get to go on an errand and I even got to go to the post-office twice.
On the way back to the Ranch I decided that since the sun was going down and that makes it officially my hebrew birthday - I deserved some special dose of sugar and I figured, DUH! meringues ALL the way. One of each color. Though, I've got to admit - I'm not such of fan of the 'banana' ones and though I don't mind the 'strawberry' ones the plain-old white ones are still the yummiest in my book.
I can't believe it's already Wednesday.
Where has the week gone?
And now that I said that - will tomorrow be reaaaallllly long just to spite me?
Tuesday, July 04, 2006
I decided that the funny smell in the kitchen simply 'had to go' so I isolated the source of the smell and disposed of it. I mean, fingers aren't meant to go through potatos - are they? Seeing as I was in the kitchen I decided to make use of the other vegetables that had been sitting on the shelf for about as long as the potatos.
Problem: only other veggie was a bunch of onions.
Solution: Onion soup. And, we even had wine.
So, I put up soup and left it simmering on the fire ALL day. End result - REALLY YUMMY SOUP. And, the strange thing was... It didn't need any salt or pepper.
Nootch called and she was with her family at TM, so I dashed over to see them before they got on their bus. Whoa, the kids have all gotten sooooo big!!! I can't believe it's been almost 4 years since I last saw them. We visited the twilight zone bathroom and then dropped them off at the their bus-stop. After that Nootch and I grabbed coffee and went grocery shopping. Sounds mundane, but truth is - it's great.
I am living a perfect single-girl's life. I have friends, I have things to do, I'm having fun and best of all I'm enjoying.
Well, not when I'm not - but I guess that's understood.
Current Life Quandary - do I betray my boundary lines and do something for a friend or do I disappoint a friend and remain aloof?

--From The Two Gentlemen of Verona (I, ii, 23-24)
Today was a 'bubble' day. Where fun stuff is happening and you're actually a part of it - but it seems so distant and surreal that you almost can't believe that you are a part of it.
After a lazy morning, I went out for brunch in town with my Nootch and on the way we saw people we knew and in town we saw people we knew and leaving we met even more people that we knew. It felt funny to actually be a sociable person.
Work was amusing. The intern started today. She seems quiet, shy and nervous. Well, we'll break her out of that shell in due time - though, she's not really going to be around for very long.
After work I met up with Sas and Malia. They were in a g'mach and Sas was trying on wedding gowns. We found one that is really quite stunning. After putting it on 'hold' we headed off to do some quick errands that turned into quite a night on the town. It started with me wanting ice-cream. So, in deference to our 'diets' we decided on frozen yogurt (extra sprinkles :) of course...) Of course, fro-yo just isn't substantial enough to call dinner - so I suggested pizza. I was overruled however, a 900 calorie slice of pizza is just not worth it when you could have an equally satisfying 500 calorie bagel. Yeah, so we got bagels. Notice we had the dessert first. Why? Because, Life is short.
Walked back to the ranch and stopped to watch some fireworks along the way.
Big plans in the works. I'm so excited for vacation!
I intend to get back to the beach.
Anybody wanna join?

Long day. Travails and Havocs. Rumor of ladies pining away for their lost-loves. Whispers of a new face - tested and tried and found wanting. Anger and shame. Pain and Grief.
I love the tide though I tire of the topic.
Tomorrow perhaps. Or mayhap the morrow that follows.
No, not today.
Saturday, July 01, 2006
Shabbos Day - Well, the cat waking me up for shul was probably the most interetsing part of my day. Lunch was a boring affair followed by 'dessert' which was quite novel. More Shani-time (though I made her sad, which I do feel bad about.) Looooong nap. Salad and Shakespeare's Sonnets.
Now it's Motz"ash and I'm not sure what is going on. I've been invited to go to Jerusalem but if I do that I'll just stay in the city for the week. (Both good and bad.) But, there is something I need to do in Bet Shemesh in the morning (if Daddy will take me.) Now the question is - what to do... And NO - going into Jeru and then Home and then back into the city in the morning is NOT an option. Mostly because I don't have enough punches on my Kartisiya and no cash on me to speak of...
I'll figure it out.
Shavua Tov everybody!!!
