Potatoes - Again.

Waking up at 5:30 in the morning is not pleasant. Waking up shvitzing and feeling disgusting at 5:30 in the morning is an even less pleasant experience. Just in case you were wondering.

At a little after 10 we walked down to Mega. We didn't really need anything - but figured it was a good excuse to get out of the house. In the store we ran into a neighbor and then on our way out of the store we watch both buses of the hour drive past the stop. Thankfully a creepy 'sherut' driver came by 5 minutes later - we choked on secondhand smoke all the way up the hill - but it was better than sitting and waiting in the sun for another 45 minutes.

The early afternoon was relatively boring. (I've decided that not eating takes the fun out of cooking and baking - which is why I haven't been doing much of that lately.)

Thankfully in the mid-afternoon cousin Chaim called to find out if we were Home then he came over to visit. He's taking some classes at our neighborhood michlala and needed to be in Petach Tikvah later in the evening. So we shmoozed and watched some hysterical clips on the internet. A couple of gems he introduced us to were Clients From Hell, My Food Looks Funny and Mike's Amazing Cakes.

Z and Chaim headed out at the same time. So I washed 2 loads of laundry, packed for Rosh Hashana, pretended to organize the coffee table in the office, pretended to organize the kitchen, got dinner ready (Z requested little white fishies and smash-crashed-potatoes - yes, I know I call them something different everytime - but they're just so yummy), made a list of things that still need to be packed, cleaned out the fridge, figured out our 'travel schedule' for tomorrow morning and watched some more Desperate Housewives.

All in all not an overly productive day - but at least it wasn't a complete waste.

I guess that's a good thing.

Holy Moly - Rosh Hashana is tomorrow night.
